Join Uxmar Torres, Poet Laureate of Joliet, for an inspiring evening celebrating creativity and community during National Poetry Month.
This Open Mic Night welcomes poets, singers, and rappers to share their original work in an encouraging, inclusive space. Bring your words, your voice, and your passion—this night is all about self-expression and connection.
Performances are acoustic or a cappella only (no beats, no cover songs, and no readings of another artist’s work). The event begins with a youth segment from 5–6 p.m. for teens and high school students, followed by adult performers from 6–8 p.m.
Whether you’re stepping up to the mic or cheering from the audience, come be part of the rhythm, creativity, and storytelling that define Joliet’s artistic spirit.
