Join the Troy Township 4th annual plant swap! Bring your plants, cuttings, seeds or plant accessories to share with others and make new plant friends!
Calling all plant lovers! Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this is the perfect opportunity to trade plants, cuttings, seeds, and plant accessories while connecting with fellow green thumbs.
This free event is open to Village of Shorewood, City of Joliet, and Troy Township residents. To participate, bring at least one plant, cutting, seed (no commercial packets), or plant-related accessory (such as macramé hangers, decorative pots, or plant stands—no disposable items) to trade. All indoor and outdoor plant varieties are welcome!
Swap Guidelines:
Healthy Plants Only – All plants must be pest-free and in individual pots, containers of water, or wrapped in moist paper towels.
Labeling Encouraged – If possible, label your plants and provide care instructions.
Respectful Trading – All swaps must be agreed upon by both parties. DO NOT take items without permission. Swap yes, swipe no!
Honor System – Be mindful of fair trades and balanced swaps.
No Selling – This is a swap-only event; no commercial landscapers or sellers allowed.
Additional Details:
Bring a box, cart, or wagon to carry your new plant treasures.
A freebie table will be available if you'd like to donate plants without needing a trade.
Kids are welcome!
Well-behaved dogs on leashes are also welcome.
Rain Plan: If canceled due to rain, the swap will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 2nd, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
